The tight-knit community of Maple Ridge is mourning the sudden and heartbreaking loss of eight-year-old Daniel Hart, who died following a father-son outing to a favorite local nature trail.
Daniel’s father, Michael Hart, had planned the trip as a surprise, hoping to share a peaceful afternoon enjoying the outdoors. Witnesses described the pair laughing and taking photos along the path before Daniel grew pale and collapsed. Michael and several bystanders provided aid until paramedics arrived, but Daniel passed away shortly after reaching the hospital.
